Condit Dam, a 125 foot high fish barrier, was built in 1913 on the White Salmon River, a southern Washington trib of the Columbia. The dam limited salmon and steelhead to only three river miles, effectively decimating the native populations within the watershed.
But now the White Salmon runs free again. And the anti-dam movement has another success under its belt.
