Tying Flies With One Hand

Jesse Scott of Everett, Washington, has invented a device to help wounded soldiers tie flies with the physical use of only one hand. He came up with the idea at Madigan Army Medical Center, at Ft Lewis, Washington, while working with Sergeant First Class Marvin Johnson, US Army. Johnson was wounded twice in two tours of duty in the Middle East. His second injury rendered his left arm immobile from the shoulder down.

Working the the Federation of Fly Fishers, Scott has perfected the original device and has published plans so you can make your own "Evergreen Hand" and help wounded vets (and others) enjoy the creativity of fly tying. Tying Flies With One Hand
