The Fly Fishing Show—an annual highlight in six major locations across the country—has announced cancellations and/or postponements of its shows originally planned for Denver, Colorado; Marlborough, Massachusetts; and Edison, New Jersey in January 2021. The Denver show has been rescheduled for April 2021, and the Massachusetts and New Jersey shows were postponed until 2022.
“The ongoing medical battle with COVID-19 mixed with local and state show attendance regulations, including numbers of attendees allowed, has severely impacted the fly-fishing industry with dramatic changes for the 2021 Fly Fishing Show,” announced President and CEO Ben Furimsky.
The Denver show is now planned for April 30-May 2 in its usual location at the Denver Mart, 451 E. 58th Ave.
At press time, the Atlanta, Georgia show scheduled for Feb. 5-6 is proceeding as scheduled, as are the Pleasanton, California show (Feb 19-21) and the Lancaster, Pennsylvania show (March 6-7). For the latest updates visit flyfishingshow.com .
The Fly Fishing Show is just one in a long list of live fly-fishing events that have been canceled or modified for 2021, with decisions made in late 2020 when coronavirus infections, deaths, and hospitalizations were reaching all-time highs in many states. The International Fly Fishing Film Festival (flyfilmfest.com) announced a new 100 percent virtual festival platform for the start of 2021, as did the Fly Fishing Film Tour (flyfilmtour.com ).
